Frequently Asked Questions
For many of our new patients, ours is their first experience with chiropractic care. As such, we receive some questions about the nature of chiropractic, its function, different techniques and processes, and about our practice as a whole. Here are some questions we hear the most often.
When patients say their pain or discomfort “comes and goes,” that is usually the first warning of something deeper happening. This is a signal that the same injury is flaring over time, and your body alerting you that it is getting worse. The main indicator is when each episode keeps you from enjoying comfort in normal life — your family, hobbies, and work.
The top priority of chiropractic care is for your body to function optimally in overall health. Major contributing factors to your health can include back and neck pain, headaches, arthritis, allergy symptoms, asthma, injury recovery, and any neurological related issues.
Adjustment helps remove a subluxation, also known as the lack of movement and/or misalignment of vertebrae. Adjusting is a way to remove the subluxation and relieve the nervous system.
We continuously strive to be better and stay on the cutting edge of our profession. Continuing education is a priority, as it should be for every doctor. New techniques enable us to customize treatments more compellingly and reinforce that a “cookie-cutter” approach is the furthest thing from our processes in treating our patients.
We’ll talk through your medical history, followed by an examination and consideration of other evaluations. This will take about 45 minutes. We will schedule your next appointment to go over any findings and will establish a customized care plan.
With a holistic approach, we strive to consider all aspects of your wellbeing, including physical, mental, and emotional. Boosting these wellness factors promotes overall health, and in turn reduces chronic and acute discomfort. Our goal is for you to live a more productive, happier, and healthier life.
